Charlie Kirk was a man of God that was unashamed of his faith. Unashamed of Jesus. Unashamed of speaking out for truth. For life. He honored his wife and kids. He walked in his calling and God gifted him with extreme wisdom. He lived a life of honor.
Sadly, in this world there is a lot of death, shootings, murder, and evil. Yes, it's sad when someone dies and we pray for their family, of course. But something hit different when Charlie's life was taken.
For me personally, I had liked Charlie and his videos on social media, but I didn't know too much about him. But when he was murdered, something deep in my spirit mourned. I actually wept! As I read things online and in groups, I saw hundreds of Christians feeling the exact same way. What?! Logically, you can't really explain it. Yes, it's sad when a good person's life gets cut short by evil. Yes, you feel sad. Yes, you pray for their loved ones. Even as an intercessor, I can feel deeply about specific people that the Lord lays on my heart. But....this was different.
I felt a surge rise up in me. Like an awakening. A boldness. We as the Body of Christ all felt it. Mourning, deep sadness, and shock that our brother in Christ got taken out. He was a leader, an example of how WE are to walk in boldness, faith, unashamed of the gospel. It's like a shockwave rippled through the entire Body of Christ worldwide. Like a defibrillator jumpstarted all of our hearts screaming WAKE UP!
WAKE UP from your sleepy apathetic so called Christian lifestyle of comfort.
WAKE UP from doing business as usual and being Sunday Christians.
WAKE UP to the mixture that has infiltrated the churches.
WAKE UP from all of the distractions the enemy has been throwing your way.
WAKE UP from cowering in fear and labeling it tolerance and "love."
WAKE UP from not wanting to offend or not be liked.
WAKE UP from snuffing out the Holy Spirit's voice and walking in disobedience.
WAKE UP from being on the fence.
WAKE UP from allowing gossip, slander, pride, jealousy, and other sins in your life.
WAKE UP from being baby Christians, coddling each other, and so self focused.
Enough already. Charlie's death is a wake up call. Now it's time to RISE UP.
RISE UP and tear off the sleepiness, lethargy, disobedience, pride, and fear.
RISE UP and get on your face in repentance to God.
RISE UP and put Jesus first in your life, marriage, family, and work.
RISE UP and flip the tables in the churches where the enemy has set up camp.
RISE UP and step into your calling, whatever God has led you to do in this life.
RISE UP and be unashamed of the gospel. This life is not about you, it's about Jesus.
RISE UP and take spiritual authority over your home, street, workplace, wherever your feet walk.
RISE UP and speak out for injustice, for the unborn, for the children, for the next generation.
RISE UP and link arms with other on fire believers and do Bible studies, outreaches, community.
RISE UP and fast & pray for what GOD wants, not what man wants.
I have heard people ask "who will replace Charlie Kirk?"
I know the answer...
No one.
There's only one Charlie Kirk. It's time for YOU to rise up and be who God designed YOU to be.
Charlie is dancing with Jesus in heaven right now. He was a good and faithful servant. Let his death here on earth be a wake up call for us all. Let it not be in vain, all the work he did for Jesus while he was on earth.
"Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain." - John 12:24
Time to rise up and walk in boldness...
